Armed men kidnapped Ibrahim Garba Musa, the permanent secretary of the Nigerien transport ministry.
He was abducted at dawn on Saturday, October 2, along with his son in the Zungeru area of the state, where they attended a wedding ceremony.
Mary NoelBerje, chief press secretary of Abubakar state governor Sani Bello, confirmed the incident.
She said the governor also “decried the barbaric and atrocious acts of bandits in Shiroro and Munya Local Government Areas recently, where many villagers were slaughtered, burnt and some kidnapped”.
His kidnapping came just two months after Sani Idris, the state information commissioner, was kidnapped by suspected robbers.
