Abba Kyari To Be Extradited To Us After NDLEA Investigation – FG

Presidential sources say the suspended super cop, Abba Kyari, who was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Monday, February 14, will be extradited to the United States. after an investigation into drug trafficking.

According to The Nation, the federal government planned with the United States Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI) to hand over Kyari, wanted for taking bribes from alleged internet fraudster Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, or aka Hushpuppi, from a $1.1 million booty.

It was also learned that law enforcement agencies delayed action against Kyari for four days until the president asked Inspector General Baba Usman to hand him over to the NDLEA.

Not long before he was handed over to drug enforcement along with four other police officers charged with the same crime, the NDLEA announced Kyari’s arrest after he claimed to be involved in drugs and released videos of him attempting to bribe officials to the public.

Sources say President Muhammadu Buhari received a report on Kyari from NDLEA President Buba Marwa.

The other suspects arrested are Sunday Ubuah, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP); Bawa James, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP); Inspector Simon Agrigba and Inspector John Nuhu.

According to a senior presidential source, the federal government has finalized the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with the United States for the extradition of Kyari.

A presidential source was quoted as saying;

“It was after the briefing that the agency set the machinery in motion to arrest Kyari and four others. Two drug suspects linked with the Kyari group are already in the agency’s custody.

The interrogation of the five police officers will begin on Tuesday (today) alongside the two drug traffickers in NDLEA’s net.

Both the traffickers and the police officers will have the opportunity to face detectives on how Kyari became an intermediary.

It is expected that this action may lead to the unearthing of the drug cartel in the country.”
