The singer additionally wondered why police stations are burnt down once one among the strain of the protesters was higher police welfare and coaching.

He tweeted:

We need a Country where there is law and order for us to make any real change !!! Please stop!

It is painful that what started as a peaceful protest has been hijacked and turned into complete Anarchy, in total disrespect to those that lost their lives during the Peaceful protest. This is def not the way to honour those that lost their lives while protesting peacefully.

What is there to gain from burning and looting private businesses that provide employment to our own people?? Or burgling or burning houses belong to innocent citizens?! Or burning Buses that our own people depend on for transport to go to work and go about their lives???

Why burn police stations, when one of our demands was better police welfare and training??? Please stop stop stop stop! It all makes no sense whatsoever !! If you know anybody partaking in this, tell them to stop!!

Delta State High Court Rejects Davido’s Application for Stay of Proceedings in N2 Billion Lawsuit

    Published

    on

The application made by singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for a stay of proceedings in the N2 billion lawsuit filed against him by Brownhill Investment Company Limited, owned by former NFF president Amaju Pinnick, has been rejected by a Delta State High Court in Effurun, Aso Naija Reports.

The lawsuit was filed by Amaju’s company after Davido failed to perform at the annual ‘Warri Again Concert’ for which he had been fully compensated.

The company is seeking N2 billion in general damages from Davido, as well as N150 million for legal and professional fees, and an additional N30 million for the cost of filing the suit.

During the recent hearing, Davido’s lawyer, Norrison Quakers, SAN, informed the court that there was a pending appeal and that the defendants had filed a motion for a stay of proceedings.

Quakers also stated that the defendants had received a copy of the claimant’s counter affidavit to the motion for stay.

However, Quakers requested to withdraw the motion, arguing that the Court of Appeal now had jurisdiction over the proceedings.

Amaju’s company’s counsel, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, did not oppose the withdrawal of the motion, and the court granted the request.

In a bench ruling, the court supported the claimant’s argument and held that the High Court would continue with the proceedings in the case until an order staying further proceedings was obtained from the Court of Appeal.
