Tems Bags Golden Globe nomination for ‘Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has bagged her first Golden Globe nomination for her contribution on the soundtrack for Marvel movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The ‘Essence crooner’ was nominated for Best Original Score award category alongside Rihanna, and other songwriters – Ludwig Göransson and Ryan Coogler.

Tems co-wrote the song titled ‘Lift Me Up’, which was performed by Rihanna and released on November 4.

The song was written as a tribute to the lead actor of the first Black Panther movie, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020 after a long battle with colon cancer at age 43.

The Golden Globe’s nominees’ list was announced on Monday, December 12, and the actress was happy that she was nominated for the award.

Reacting to the amazing news, Tems tweeted, “My God!! this one is too much.”
