“For the first time in my entire career, I felt free” – Yemi Alade Says as she performs without makeup
The Johnny crooner who performed yesterday in Belgium recounted the inner freedom she felt performing without body and facial embellishment.
Taking to Instagram, Yemi Alade, emphasized the liberation that came with such courage despite the fact that it came unplanned.
“For the first time in my entire career, I went on stage with No makeup, Costum Attire, no pre-stage photo-up ! It wasn’t my plan in the beginning but I Have never felt so Uninhibited, musically unhinged! A freaking Rockstar! Thank you Brussels! I’m thirsty for more,” she wrote.
Yemi Eberechi Alade, is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, actress and activist. She won the Peak Talent Show in 2009 after which she signed to Effyzzie Music Group, and had a hit with her single “Johnny” in 2014.
Since then Yemi has gained prominence in the music industry and considered one of the biggest artists in Africa.
