The closure was carried out by a task force responsible for addressing grain hoarding and unjustified price hikes of food items.
Following the closure of the stations, Jabiru Salisu Tsauri, the chairman of the task force and Chief of Staff to the governor, addressed the media.
He explained that the committee had been granted the authority to apprehend individuals suspected of involvement and detain them for 48 hours before commencing court proceedings.
According to the committee, it received credible intelligence that the affected petrol stations were engaged in supplying fuel to bandits during the late-night and early-morning hours.
However, one of the affected business owners denied these allegations, claiming that they conducted their operations cautiously and would never partake in activities that could threaten the state’s security.
