Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa Dismisses All Commissioners and Aides Appointed by Akeredolu
This action has resulted in the dissolution of the State Executive Council, effective immediately.
Furthermore, the governor has relieved all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants from their duties. The announcement was made by the governor’s spokesman, Ebenezer Adeniyan, in a statement released on January 24, 2024.
According to the statement, all members of the Cabinet appointed by the late Governor Akeredolu are required to promptly hand over their responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices. Additionally, the affected officials have been instructed to surrender all government properties under their possession.
The statement expresses the governor’s gratitude to the dismissed officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State. It should be noted that Aiyedatiwa, who previously served as the deputy governor of Ondo State, assumed the position of governor on December 27, 2023, following the demise of Governor Akeredolu.
