The suspension, which took place on Monday, April 15, 2024, was a result of allegations of bribery levelled against him by the Kano State Government
Reasons for Suspension:
The legal adviser of the ward, Halliru Gwanzo, accused Ganduje of gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his administration in the state.
Additionally , the suspension was a unanimous decision made by the members of the ward, who believed that the seriousness of the allegations against Ganduje warranted his suspension from the party
Response from the Party:
The Kano State chapter of the APC, State Working Committee, countered Ganduje’s purported suspension and took action against the ward party leaders who initiated the suspension.
Subsequently, the party in the APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area deemed Ganduje’s suspension invalid, null, and void.
The state Working Committee adopted the suspension of the ward’s APC leaders, who were behind the suspension of the National Chairman.
They have been sanctioned for six months, and a special investigations panel has been set up to verify several allegations against them
Ongoing Investigations:
The Kano State APC chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, stated that evidence of meetings between state government officials and those who suspended the National Chairman has been found.
Also, the state Working Committee is currently investigating the alleged anti-party activities of the culprits.
However, he party has since adopted the decisions made by the local government party leaders and has sanctioned the culprits for six months.
