Football Star Pele passes away from long battle with cancer

Pele, a football superstar who is widely recognized as one of the all-time greatest players, passed away at the age of 82.

Pele, who is undergoing treatment for colon cancer, was checked into a hospital in Sao Paulo earlier this month after developing a respiratory infection during a bout with Covid-19.

Family members had gathered at the Albert Einstein Israelita Hospital in Sao Paulo shortly before Christmas after news that his colon cancer had worsened and posted a series of pictures of their bedside vigil over recent days.
