Seeking Justice: Ogunbanjo Family’s Lawsuit Against Orbic Air for Helicopter Crash Tragedy

On April 10, 2024, the family of Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), initiated a wrongful death lawsuit against Orbic Air LLC, a US-based charter company responsible for operating the helicopter that tragically crashed in Southern California, Aso Naija Reports.

This lawsuit follows the unfortunate incident that claimed the lives of Ogunbanjo and four others.

According to the lawsuit, Orbic Air is accused of negligence for allowing the helicopter to fly under hazardous weather conditions, including snow and rain, in the Mojave Desert on February 9th.

Ogunbanjo’s family argues that the flight should have been postponed or canceled due to the dangerous weather conditions.

The lawsuit, filed in the San Bernardino County Superior Court, was brought forward by the law firm Robb & Robb based in Los Angeles.

The same firm represented Vanessa Bryant in her suit following the helicopter crash that took the life of her husband, Kobe Bryant, in 2020.

Seeking a jury trial, the lawsuit aims to obtain unspecified damages, including compensation for Ogunbanjo’s burial and funeral expenses.
