I’ll pay N12m tithe from my prize money before buying anything — All Stars Winner, Ilebaye

Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of Big Brother Naija All Stars, says she would give 10 percent as tithe to her church from the N120 million prize money she earned from the reality show.

She made this known in response to a fan’s query regarding what she would do first if she won the money.

According to Ilebaye, she would not purchase anything after receiving the cash reward, but would rather offer tithes to God as a token of appreciation.

Also, Tithing is a practice deeply rooted in the Christian religion, where individuals typically give one-tenth of their earnings to the church.

The 22-year-old reality TV star won the BBNaija All Stars season on October 1 and was presented with a cheque for N120 million and a brand-new car.

Once the N120 million reaches my account, I am not going to buy anything; I will give my tithe to God and thank him for the grace he has given me, it is a good grace,” she said.

Tithe is a portion (10%) of your income given as an offering to your local church. (Fun fact: The word tithe literally means tenth in Hebrew.) Because the custom of tithing is biblical, many Christians and Jews practice it as part of their faith.
