An update has been provided by a senior official from the Nigerian Correctional Service regarding the treatment of Bobrisky, the crossdresser, in prison and his biological male features, Aso Naija Reports.
Bobrisky received a six-month prison sentence for engaging in activities that defaced the Nigerian currency, the naira.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos delivered the sentence with the intention of deterring others who might commit similar acts of abuse and mutilation of the currency.
According to an official from the prison who spoke to Punch, Bobrisky was taken to the correctional facility following the court’s judgment.
Upon admission, he underwent an examination, during which no alteration of his gender or genitalia was discovered, as his biological male features remained unchanged.
The source informed the publication that Bobrisky publicly declared himself as male during court proceedings, which are matters of public record.
Like all inmates admitted to the facility, he underwent the standard examination.
Afterward, he was assigned a cell and had a specific number of inmates as his companions.
He was also provided with a bed space, similar to the allocation of personal belongings in a boarding house.
Bobrisky participates in daily activities alongside other inmates.
He attends classes, obtains his share of food, adheres to study periods, and follows the lights-out schedule without any preferential treatment.
He conducts himself in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the facility. It should be noted that single or isolation cells are employed to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
In the male prison, homosexuality is strictly prohibited and considered a serious offense. Any inmate who attempts to violate Bobrisky or engage in any form of sodomy or homosexuality will face legal consequences.
Therefore, he is not receiving preferential treatment or special protection from other inmates.
It is evident that Bobrisky is treated like any other inmate, abiding by the prescribed guidelines and regulations of the correctional facility.
