LP Factional Leader, Apapa, Chased and Disgraced Outside Appeal Court
Upon his arrival at the presidential election petition court, Apapa confronted Akin Osuntokun, director-general of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council, over the sitting arrangement.
Lamidi Apapa, factional chairman of the Labour Party (LP), was taken into protective custody on Wednesday after he was mobbed by party supporters in court.
The opposing LP faction outside the court was screaming, ‘Ole’ (simply translated as a thief), ‘Imposter’ etc., as Apapa’s supporters led him away from them.
This was as the party factions clashed and tried to attack Apapa, who was barricaded by the police.
The drama happened shortly after the opposing faction in the LP leadership crisis resisted journalists who tried to interview Apapa.
It was reported that there was a disagreement between two factions of the party before the court resumed proceedings at the tribunal.
However, the feud begat fights that shouldn’t have happened because of how flimsy the cause was .
