Mohbad Toxicology Investigation Conducted In The US, Reveals Lagos State Coroner

In the ongoing investigation into the untimely passing of Afrobeat singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the Lagos State government has informed the coroner that the toxicology examination on his body is being carried out in the United States of America, Aso Naija Reports.

During a session with Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi, a representative from the Lagos State counsel, O. Akinde, revealed this information in response to inquiries from other parties involved in the inquiry, who were seeking an update on the pending autopsy report.

Akinde stated that the most critical aspect of the autopsy, which aims to determine the cause of the musician’s demise, is currently being handled by experts in the US.

He explained, “The toxicology test, which focuses on the internal body, is being conducted in the US.”

The coroner expressed curiosity as to why the toxicology examination had been outsourced to another country when Nigeria possesses its own toxicology laboratories.

Akinde clarified that Lagos State opted for the US due to the nature of the various substances alleged to have been either injected or consumed by the deceased. The decision was made to prevent potential controversies surrounding the autopsy report once it is eventually presented.
