In a ruling by the Zamfara State High Court of Justice, one individual has been sentenced to death by hanging, while another has been sentenced to life imprisonment for charges of culpable homicide and attempted armed robbery, Aso Naija Reports.

The presiding judge, Justice Mukhtar Yusha’u, found both defendants guilty during the course of the trial. Anas Dahiru, a resident of the Unguwar Dallatu area in Gusau, Zamfara State, was accused of fatally stabbing his friend, Shamsu Ibrahim, with a knife following a disagreement over N100 in 2017.

After careful consideration, Justice Yusha’u declared Dahiru guilty and imposed the penalty of death by hanging in accordance with Section 221 of the panel code.

Furthermore, Sadiqu Abubakar was convicted by the presiding judge for attempted armed robbery in the Bungudu local government area of Zamfara State. Sadiqu was found guilty of assaulting a businessman in Runji village, situated within the Bungudu local government area.

Justice Mukhtar Yusha’u noted that Sadiqu Abubakar had violated Section 221 of the panel code and accordingly sentenced him to life imprisonment.
