Ekiti State Government Sues Chef Dammy’s Pastor, Demands N10m Damages
The Directorate of Citizens Rights (DCR) at the Ekiti State Ministry of Justice has filed a lawsuit on behalf of 24-year-old Chef Dammy, whose real name is Damilola Adeparusi.
The lawsuit accuses Pastor Adegoke and the Ekiti State Police Command of violating Dammy’s fundamental human rights.
According to reports, the DCR has also requested the court to issue a restraining order against Adegoke and the police, preventing them from arresting Chef Dammy. Additionally, they are seeking a compensation of N10 million for the chef, citing aggravated damages. Chef Dammy gained fame after her unsuccessful attempt to break a Guinness World Record.
The lawsuit, filed on Friday, November 24, by the DCR, lists Chef Dammy as the applicant, with Mr. Adegoke, Ajewole Samuel (the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police), and the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 17 Akure, as respondents.
The lawsuit aims to obtain a declaration that the ongoing harassment, molestation, threat of arrest, and intimidation by Pastor Adegoke, in collaboration with Mr. Samuel and the Nigerian police, infringes upon the applicant’s fundamental human rights.
Furthermore, the lawsuit seeks a restraining order to prevent Chef Dammy’s arrest and demands a compensation of N10 million for aggravation and damages.
