Lagos Police Still Awaiting Mohbad’s Autopsy Report

Two months after the exhumation of late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command is still awaiting the results of his autopsy, Aso Naija Reports.

Mohbad’s death on September 12 sparked controversy, prompting the police to form an investigation team to determine the cause of his demise.

In September, state police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin tweeted that an autopsy had been completed and the results were being awaited.

In October, several suspects were named in connection with Mohbad’s death, including then-Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa. Owohunwa stated that Mohbad had experienced vomiting and goosebumps after receiving three injections from nurse Feyisayo Ogedemgbe on September 12, 2023.

Last Friday, singers Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and Balogun Samson, aka Sam Larry, were released from police custody after fulfilling their bail requirements. The duo had been arrested as part of the investigation into Mohbad’s death following the release of online footage showing them allegedly assaulting the late singer.

When asked about the release of Mohbad’s autopsy report, Hundeyin stated that the report had not yet been officially received by the command.

The autopsy report has not been given to us,” Hundeyin said. “Some people have been carrying rumors that it’s ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be given to us officially – that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it. So, we don’t work with rumors, we work with facts.”

The delayed release of the autopsy report has raised concerns among the public, who are eager to know the reason behind Mohbad’s death. The police have assured the public that they are committed to finding answers and bringing those responsible to justice.
