Lagos State Government Refutes Claims of Governor Sanwo-Olu Paying Lawyers with State Funds

The Lagos State Government has officially refuted reports suggesting that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu utilized state funds to pay for his legal team handling petitions against his election, Aso Naija Reports.

On Sunday, November 19, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the state, raised concerns on his social media platform, questioning the alleged allocation of funds from the state Ministry of Justice for Governor Sanwo-Olu’s legal team at the election tribunal.

In response to these allegations, Gbenga Omotoso, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, dismissed the claims.

Omotoso clarified that the document shared by Gbadebo did not bear the official logo of the state government nor the signature of any authorized personnel.

Additionally, he categorically denied any such financial transaction made by the Ministry.
