President Tinubu Implements 60% Reduction in Travel Expenses for Government Officials
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed this information to State House Correspondents on January 9 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The decision to cut costs on official travels was made by President Tinubu as a measure to control expenditure. The reduction in travel expenses will apply to the President’s office, Vice President’s office, First Lady’s office, and ministries.
“It is important to note that President Tinubu has issued a directive to significantly minimize the number of individuals accompanying state officials on their trips. This is not a mere request; it is a firm directive,” stated Ajuri Ngelale.
This directive will impact the President’s office, staff members, Vice President, and other appointed officials. As a result of this directive, there will be a substantial 60% reduction in expenditure on official travel.
