The seat of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been declared vacant by the  Speaker of the House of Representative, Tajudeen Abbas, aso Naija Reports.

This comes after Gbajabiamila tendered his resignation letter under personal explanation at the plenary on Wednesday, June 14.

Abbas, after receiving the letter and read to members said, “We have today declared the role of Surulere Lagos Constituency free following the resignation of Gbajabiamila.“

 

Gbajabiamila said in his letter of resignation addressed to the Speaker that he would be taken up a new role as the Chief of Staff (CoS) to president Bola Tinubu.

The immediate past Speaker further said he would cease to be a member of the 10th House of Reps.
