BREAKING: Rapper DMX reportedly Dead after a drug overdose, Colleague mourns
Idols across the nation have begun again to mourn the death of American rap legend, Earl Simmons, aka DMX, who died on Friday at the age of 50, aso Naija reports.
The rapper was hurried to a hospital in New York on April 2 after suffering a heart attack. His family substantiated his demise in an announcement on Friday.
Actress, Halle Berry, wrote on Twitter, “His gift meant so much to so many. Sending love to his family.”
Singer, Missy Elliott, wrote, “Even though you had battles, you touched so many through your music and when you would pray, so many people felt that.”

Another singer and former associate of the rapper, Eve, wrote, “I will forever be grateful to have known you. You were one of the most special people I ever met. Full of humor, talent, wisdom, love, and loyalty. This world has lost a real one but the heavens have gained an angel.”
According to The PUNCH, Music label, Def Jam Recordings, said in a statement that they were ‘deeply and profoundly saddened by the loss of our brother’ and called the rapper ‘a brilliant artiste and an inspiration to millions around the world’.
