Oyebanji is sworn in as governor of Ekiti.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has handed over to Abiodun Oyebanji as Governor of the state.

As the new governor of Ekiti State, Oyebanji has reportedly taken the oath of office, Asonaija reports.

On Sunday, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, administered the oath of office to Oyebanji to the cheers of the audience.

Governor Kayode Fayemi, who also served as the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, was succeeded by him.

In front of the enormous Ekiti people, Oyebanji took an oath during which he swore to guard the position of governor and preserve it.

With 187,057 votes, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and former secretary to the state government (SSG) was declared the winner of the Ekiti governorship election. He outperformed his two closest rivals, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who received 82,211 votes, and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 67,457 votes.
