A 17-year-old boy, Ade Segun, who planned his kidnap with his friends, Precious and Nonso, to defraud his parents of the sum of N2,000,000 has been arrested in Delta State, aso Naija reports.

However, The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed this on his Twitter page on Friday.

In addition,  Edafe went on to say that the suspect’s parents reported the case at the Warri station where one of the female officers pretended to pay the ransom.

He said, “The suspect, Ade Segun, planned his own kidnapped alongside two of his friends, Precious and Nonso, called Ade’s parents, and demanded the sum of #2,000,000.

“The parents reported at the police station in Warri, where a woman police played along, pretending to pay the ransom money.

“When the undercover policemen got to the location, they laid ambush and one of them, Precious, came to pick the money.

“He was rounded up and arrested. He took them to the hideout where Ade and his other friend were arrested and confessed that it was all planned.”

Moreover, the news of “fake kidnap ” amongst youth has become so rampant that it happens almost everyday.

Lastly, it seems the country is in a dire need of good economy.
