Tinubu’s Ongoing Recovery from Knee Surgery, Presidency Reveals

According to Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu is still in the process of recovering from the knee surgery he underwent in London, Aso Naija Reports.

In 2021, Tinubu underwent the procedure in London prior to the start of the general election campaign. When asked about the President’s health during an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, Onanuga clarified that Tinubu’s only health concern is his ongoing recovery from the knee surgery.

Onanuga stated, “No, he was not sick. We want to make this clear to Nigerians. Tinubu was in excellent health leading up to that election. About a year prior to the campaign, he underwent knee surgery, which was publicly known. President Buhari even visited him in London while he was recuperating.”

“So, the purpose of his trip was for a procedure. That is the reason for his difficulty in walking. After the procedure, you can’t expect him to walk like a 25-year-old. He is still in the recovery phase because it was a major procedure. He does not have any other health issues.”
