Nigerian Man Arrested for Wife’s Murder After Relocating to the U.K

A 47-year-old Nigerian man, Abodunde David Olubunmi, has been arrested in the United Kingdom for the death of his wife, Owoeye Taiwo Morenikeji. The couple had recently relocated to the U.K. from Nigeria, Aso Naija Reports.

On Tuesday, November 28, police officers responded to a distress call at their residence, where they discovered a serious incident had taken place. Sadly, Taiwo, who was in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

David has been charged with murder according to court documents. Prior to the tragic incident, there were reports that Taiwo had filed a restraining order against her husband. This claim was made by a Twitter user known as Tonariess, but their account has since been deactivated.

In a Facebook post, Taiwo’s brother, Owoeye Alex Adekunle, mentioned that she leaves behind three children who have now been placed in the care of social services in the U.K.
